Continental Drifts, as a preferred supplier for the LLDC’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, was awarded the tender to produce this wonderful family event on the South Events Lawn. Picnic in the Park invited local families and residents to experience the newly renovated park on a sunny summer’s day in August 2014.

Local organisations, including Hackney Play Bus and Discover Children’s Story Centre, ran activities such as storytelling, cookery workshops, sports games and a teddy bear's picnic. Families also enjoyed wandering bands and performances as they ate.

"Picnic in the Park reached over 4,000 local residents, many of whom had not yet visited the Park. Their feedback was excellent, they all praised the variety of activities and wanted more events like this repeated in the Park.
